Apollo Secures Rossie School

Overview

This secure residential facility, located in Scotland, was erected to serve the specific educational needs of unruly pupils whose general behaviour both within and outside the classroom environment. This requries the use of robust, secure tamperproof luminaires.

Special luminaires

The luminaires used on this scheme were specially designed by Apollo. The scheme required specialist equipment to be mounted within the luminaire bodies. One or more of the following were installed in the luminaires.

• Night light facility
• Presence Detector
• Smoke Detector
• Aspiration Detector
• Heat Detector
• Fire Alarm Sounder

The luminaires were also designed and manufactured to fit into the solid concrete slab ceiling. This was achieved by using side arm brackets to hold the luminaires securely into the concrete. The luminaires also had to be rear access so that the fittings can be maintained from the ceiling void without having to access the secure area below.
